Thanks to the folks over at EA Sports, NBA Jam is alive and well.  Which got us thinking: Which college team would field the best Jam squad?

10.
South Dakota State

Starters
Nate Wolters (6-4, G)
BLK: 2 CTH: 6 DRB: 9 DNK: 4 PAS: 7 SPD: 7 STL: 8 STR: 5 2PT: 7 3PT: 8

Jordan Dykstra (6-8, F)
BLK: 4 CTH: 5 DRB: 5 DNK: 5 PAS: 3 SPD: 5 STL: 3 STR: 7 2PT: 7 3PT: 8

Key Reserves
Tony Fiegen (6-7, F)
2 PT: 8 STR: 7

Chad White (6-6, G)
3 PT: 7 SPD: 6

You can bomb away with Wolters and Dyskstra.  Both Jackrabbits are shooting over 40% from three point range. The starters offer decent size and great range like the old Warriors duo of Hardaway and Mullin. Dykstra also adds a little bit of defense, while Wolters can be a one man army if you need him to be. Both reserves can shoot the three with White giving you more speed to break the full court press.

9.
Syracuse

Starters
Michael Carter-Williams (6-6, G)
BLK: 2 CTH: 6 DRB: 7 DNK: 8 PAS: 10 SPD: 7 STL: 9 STR: 5 2PT: 6 3PT: 5

Brandon Triche (6-4, G)
BLK: 1 CTH: 7 DRB: 7 DNK: 5 PAS: 7 SPD: 7 STL: 6 STR: 3 2PT: 7 3PT: 6

Key Reserves
C.J. Fair (6-8, F)
DNK: 9 3PT: 7

James Southerland (6-8, F)
STR: 8 3PT: 8

Offensively, MCW can set the table. He can break the press himself or make the extraordinary pass look easy. MCW is also a premiere on-the-ball defender, capable of swiping the rock at any moment. Triche is a decent scorer, without a flaw in his game. Both reserves can add a spark on offense or defense with size and three point range their strength.

8.
Creighton

Starters
Doug McDermott (6-8, F)
BLK: 3 CTH: 7 DRB: 7 DNK: 7 PAS: 5 SPD: 6 STL: 3 STR: 7 2PT: 9 3PT: 9

Gregory Echenique (6-9, C)
BLK: 9 CTH: 4 DRB: 4 DNK: 7 PAS: 2 SPD: 4 STL: 3 STR: 9 2PT: 8 3PT: 1

Key Reserves
Ethan Wragge (6-7, F)
3PT: 8 STR: 7

Grant Gibbs (6-5, G)
PAS: 8 DRB: 7

McDermott has the size to score inside and the stroke to heat up from outside the arc. Echnenique makes driving the lane a mistake. If the press is giving you trouble sub in Gibbs to add some speed to the lineup. Wragge and McDermott could be the best three-point duo amongst forwards in the game.

7.
Bucknell

Starters
Mike Muscala (6-11, C)
BLK: 8 CTH: 8 DRB: 5 DNK: 8 PAS: 5 SPD: 4 STL: 2 STR: 7 2PT: 8 3PT: 5

Bryson Johnson (6-2, G)
BLK: 1 CTH: 5 DRB: 7 DNK: 4 PAS: 6 SPD: 6 STL: 3 STR: 3 2PT: 7 3PT: 9

Key Reserves
Joe Willman (6-7, F)
2PT: 8 STR: 7

Cameron Ayers (6-5, G)
3PT: 7 STR: 6

Muscala is an excellent stretch five who can shutdown the lane on defense. He's a poor man's Zo from the original NBA Jam. Johnson is an excellent three point shooter, one of the best in college basketball. If you're getting steamrolled defensively, sub in Ayers who can play a little D at six-foot-five.

6.
Gonzaga

Starters
Kevin Pangos (6-2, G)
BLK: 1 CTH: 9 DRB: 8 DNK: 2 PAS: 7 SPD: 8 STL: 6 STR: 3 2PT: 6 3PT: 8

Kelly Olynyk (7-0, C)
BLK: 7 CTH: 3 DRB: 4 DNK: 7 PAS: 5 SPD: 5 STL: 4 STR: 7 2PT: 8 3PT: 5

Key Reserves
Elias Harris (6-8, F)
2PT: 8 STR: 7

Gary Bell, Jr (6-1, G)
SPD: 8 3PT: 7

Pangos can shoot the lights out and has the speed to compliment Olynyk's size. Olynyk is a euro five, which creates matchup problems when he steps outside to shoot. Harris and Bell, Jr. could offer more speed than the starting lineup and a more traditional inside-outside two-man game.

5.
Michigan

Starters
Trey Burke (6-0, G)
BLK: 2 CTH: 7 DRB: 9 DNK: 6 PAS: 9 SPD: 9 STL: 7 STR: 3 2PT: 8 3PT: 6

Tim Hardaway Jr. (6-6, G)
BLK: 4 CTH: 6 DRB: 6 DNK: 8 PAS: 5 SPD: 6 STL: 4 STR: 6 2PT: 7 3PT: 8

Key Reserves
Nik Stauskas (6-6, G)
3PT: 10 SPD: 7

Glenn Robinson III (6-6, F)
2PT: 8 3PT: 7

Mitch McGary (6-10, F)
2PT: 8 STR: 8

Burke can break the press by himself with his speed and handles. Once he's past half court, THJ can spot up on either wing and knock down threes. Their bench has everything you need: an elite three point shooter, stout swingman and a defensive wall.

4.
Duke

Starters
Mason Plumlee (6-10, C)
BLK: 8 CTH: 6 DRB: 4 DNK: 8 PAS: 5 SPD: 6 STL: 4 STR: 9 2PT: 9 3PT: 1

Seth Curry (6-2, G)
BLK: 1 CTH: 8 DRB: 7 DNK: 4 PAS: 6 SPD: 8 STL: 4 STR: 3 2PT: 6 3PT: 8

Key Reserves
Ryan Kelly (6-11, F)
BLK: 7 3PT: 9

Quinn Cook (6-1, G)
PAS: 8 STL: 8

Rasheed Sulaimon (6-4, G)
SPD: 8 3PT: 8

Plumlee has the strength to do anything and stop anything around the hoop. Curry can shoot at will out on the perimeter and let Plumlee clean up the rest. Ryan Kelly is the rare combo of long range shooter and shot blocker, a la Detlef Schrempf. Cook and Sulaimon can add pure speed and athleticism off the bench.

3.
Louisville

Starters
Russ Smith (6-1, G)
BLK: 1 CTH: 7 DRB: 8 DNK: 7 PAS: 7 SPD: 9 STL: 9 STR: 2 2PT: 7 3PT: 6

Gorgui Dieng (6-11, C)
BLK: 9 CTH: 4 DRB: 3 DNK: 8 PAS: 3 SPD: 3 STL: 6 STR: 8 2PT: 8 3PT: 1

Key Reserves
Chane Behanan (6-6, F)
2 PT: 8 STL: 8

Peyton Siva (6-0, G)
DRB: 9 SPD: 9

Dieng is a rock in the middle, like Mutombo was for the Nuggets. Russdiculous can heat up on offense, especially driving to the hoop. Siva is a great sub if you want to protect the lead and avoid turnovers. Behanan can play solid D and knock down a jumper inside the arc.

2.
Kansas

Starters
Ben McLemore (6-5, G)
BLK: 4 CTH: 8 DRB: 7 DNK: 8 PAS: 5 SPD: 7 STL: 6 STR: 6 2PT: 8 3PT: 8

Jeff Withey (7-0, C)
BLK: 10 CTH: 4 DRB: 3 DNK: 8 PAS: 3 SPD: 3 STL: 4 STR: 8 2PT: 7 3PT: 1

Key Reserves
Travis Releford (6-6, G)
3PT: 8 PAS: 7

Elijah Johnson (6-4, G)
PAS: 8 SPD: 8

McLemore is a stud and Withey can deny any dunk. This duo would play a lot like Kobe and Pau Gasol in the PS3 version. If you fall behind in the first half, Releford is ready to start bombing threes off the bench and Elijah Johnson has the speed to break the two-man full court press.

1.
Indiana

Starters
Cody Zeller (7-0, C)
BLK: 7 CTH: 7 DRB: 6 DNK: 8 PAS: 5 SPD: 6 STL: 5 STR: 8 2PT: 9 3PT: 1

Victor Oladipo (6-5, G)
BLK: 3 CTH: 7 DRB: 7 DNK: 9 PAS: 6 SPD: 8 STL: 9 STR: 7 2PT: 9 3PT: 8

Key Reserves
Christian Watford (6-9, F)
3PT: 9 STR: 8

Jordan Hulls (6-0, G)
3PT: 10 PAS: 8

This team would be hard to beat. They resemble the Bulls' Jam duo of Pippen and Grant, with no discernible weaknesses. Zeller can score inside the arc and intimidate in the lane. Oladipo is a highly skilled wing. Watford can shoot the three, while adding toughness off the bench and Hulls is a deadly assassin from deep.

Honorable Mention

Arizona State
Jahii Carson (5-10, G)
Jordan Bachynski (7-2, C)
Carrick Felix (6-6, G)

A slasher, a sharp shooting wing and a monster shot blocker.

Baylor
Pierre Jackson (5-10, G)
Isaiah Austin (7-1, C)
Brady Heslip (6-2, G)

Scoring point guard, versatile big and deadly three point shooter.

Belmont
Ian Clark (6-3, G)
Kerron Johnson (6-1, G)

Speed and daggers from three point land.

Florida
Kenny Boynton (6-2, G)
Erik Murphy (6-10, F)
Patric Young (6-9, C)

Boynton and Murphy can stretch the D and Young is a manchild in the lane.

Miami (FL)
Durant Scott (6-5, G)
Shane Larkin (5-11, G)
Kenny Kadji (6-11, C)
Reggie Johnson (6-10, C)

Kadji makes them special, giving the Canes what Dirk gives the Mavs in the game.

NC State
Lorenzo Brown (6-5, G)
C.J. Leslie (6-9, F)
Richard Howell (6-8, F)
Scott Wood (6-6, F)

Great team size, powerful forwards and Wood can make anything past half court.

UCLA
Shabazz Muhammad (6-6, F)
Jordan Adams (6-5, G)
Larry Drew II (6-2, G)
Kyle Anderson (6-9, F)

Shabazz is the star, with the rest filling in the gaps.
